Hello and thanks for dropping by!
Always curious and a little mischievous, Mikka Wee is a 28-year old food and travel writer from Manila, currently living in Singapore. This is her wee little home on the Internet where she chronicles her personal musings—food and travel being her favourite topics, as well as everyday little things that make her happy. She goes by the moniker Tiny Traveller because of her literally tiny height and constant itch to travel the world.
Mikka started her career back in 2012 as a writer for food website Pepper.ph, where she became Managing Editor, and eventually, Editor-in-Chief in 2015. Upon moving to Singapore in 2016, she still maintained her career in the food industry as Contributing Editor at SPOT.ph’s Eat + Drink section for several months as a sideline. Apart from this, Mikka also contributed a number of food and travel pieces for lifestyle magazines such as Rogue, Metro, and Cebu Pacific’s Way-to-Go, as well as for in-flight publications such as Mabuhay Magazine and Smile.
Having moved to Singapore in 2016, Mikka learned the ropes of advertising and tourism marketing at TBWA Singapore, where she managed the dining and lifestyle initiatives of the Singapore Tourism Board in three countries—Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. But after a year and a half, she decided to follow her heart and get back into the food industry.
Today, she does marketing and operations work for Singapore dessert cafés Creamier and Sunday Folks. She also writes about the ups and downs that come with “adulting” in her weekly Saturday column, Bless This Mess, under Preen by The Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Mikka’s hope is to use this online space as often as she can to document her personal adventures, write about her food discoveries, spread good vibes, and connect with other people who share the same interests all over the world.
